The Independence Day boat parade has been a tradition since its creation in 1998 by a group of lake neighbors including Kathy & Dale Hahn, Mary Lou & Craig Peterson, Mary and Ron Jorgenson, and Joan & Pat Lyrek. The annual parade held each July 4th typically includes a decorating contest to bring out the spirit and creativity of the participants and add to the enjoyment of the shoreline spectators.
